A Magical Evening With Members Table, A Mouth-Watering HGV Ultimate Access Event

Get the inside scoop on HGV Ultimate Access’ tastiest event

I received the VIP treatment when I arrived at Scottsdale Links Resort, a Hilton Vacation Club. I wanted to check out the property before my visit in November, when my son and I will celebrate our birthdays with family and friends in 3-Bedroom Suite. So I took advantage of the special offers at the HGV Max portal and saved HGV ClubPoints on my stay.

I attended a Members Table dinner — an HGV Ultimate Access* event — during my stay. (My participation at the event required attending a membership review.) Here’s my review of the resort and event.

If you are traveling with a large group, you will find this well-maintained property appealing. My spacious accommodations included a walk-in closet and a side-by-side washer and dryer. Although the golfers are quiet, the property is near Scottsdale Airport, so you may want to remember earplugs.

Although there is plenty to do on the property, I was recovering from my Honolulu trip. I didn’t take advantage of the fitness center or hang out at the family pool. I spent most of my time in the adults-only pool. If you want to cook hotdogs, hamburgers or steaks, there are several gas grills around the property. Do you want to golf? The course is adjacent to the resort. Arizona was experiencing a record heat wave, so keep an eye on the weather, stay hydrated and bring apply of sunscreen.

There are no restaurants on the property. I used Uber Eats to order from Fleming's Steakhouse and Thai Chili 2 Go. Another option was to rideshare to the sister property, Scottsdale Villa Mirage, a Hilton Vacation Club, to dine at AQUA Poolside Eatery.

One of my top recommendations for Scottsdale is lunch at AZ 88. If you want good food in a sensory-inspired environment, dine here. You have to see the unique displays to believe it. It’s a fun place. I ordered my favorite meal, a grilled cheese sandwich. Don’t forget to read your souvenir card tucked away in the drink menu.

We met in the lobby and boarded a charter bus to take us to Maggiano’s Little Italy. Because Members staying at Scottsdale Villa Mirage were attending, we picked them up on the way.

The special menu for Hilton Grand Vacations included spinach and artichoke dip, shrimp oreganata, Caesar salad, truffle mac and cheese and garlic mashed potatoes. I selected the filet mignon for my entree. The open bar allowed me to request my favorite cocktail, a St. Germain spritz, and before we left, everyone at my table tried one. We enjoyed the experience; a magician performed tricks at each table, too.

My grandbaby will arrive at the end of October, and I‘ll return in December for my first Christmas as a grandmother. Arizona is one of my favorite states to enjoy my vacation ownership. I wouldn’t have this option if I had not upgraded to HGV Max.
