Theme parks are great. I’d often taken my sons to Walt Disney World®, Universal Studios Florida and SeaWorld® Orlando when they were younger. Now that they’re grown up, I’m experiencing a different side of Orlando.
I booked a week at the SeaWorld® Orlando, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club to attend a two-day conference at the Orange County Conference Center (OCCC). This resort was perfectly located a short eight-minute drive away.
I decided to take a few days after the conference and enjoy my stay with my HGV ClubPoints. Little did I know, the resort would be a gorgeous haven of peace after the hustle and bustle of running around a conference.
From the minute I checked in, I immediately felt the difference. I got a dedicated check-in counter and a key card bracelet that identified me as an Elite Member. The Team Members are friendly, helpful and welcoming.
My beautifully appointed 1-Bedroom Suite was on the second floor. I fell in love with the comfortable corner couch in the living room and the gorgeous view of the pools.
The screened-in patio was delightful to enjoy some fresh air in the shade, and the gardens around the property are enchanting.
Need a few grocery items? No problem. The resort has a market and deli on-site, where I could grab practically everything I’d need, even a Starbucks coffee — though the in-room coffee provided by the resort is delicious.
The resort is minutes away from SeaWorld®, but I didn’t hear the noise of the theme park.
So what about this trip made it different? I was nearby so many activities to enjoy without kids since the resort is just off International Drive.
World-class restaurants and casual food spots are everywhere in Orlando. In the mood for some magic or laughs? Check out WonderWorks or Ripley’s Believe It or Not! If you enjoy shopping, visit the International Drive Premium Outlets or the Mall at Millenia.
Try Universal CityWalk for nightlife action outside of International Drive, where restaurants, music and fun await you. Parking is free in the evening, and restaurants stay open past 11 p.m. Or try the Sleuths Mystery Dinner Show for a dinner show just for adults.
Enjoy peace and quiet with a meal from Coral Reef Bar and Grill, the on-site restaurant, by the pool and its gorgeous waterfall. Try the piña colada and the home fries. By the way, there are Owner specials at the bar, so try them out. You can even order ahead on your phone and avoid peak times.
Want a break from the heat? Relax in the lobby and play one of the available board games. Catch a movie in the in-house theater or rent a DVD to watch in your Suite. This resort has it all — even a work area if you need to catch up on some emails.
Don’t overlook Orlando as a destination for adults, and check out this beautiful resort and all it has to offer. Discover more ways to explore Orlando, from romantic spots to outdoor outings.
