More than ever, we're looking for ways to vacation while staying safe during the pandemic. To avoid an indefinite postponement of much-needed R+R, we've had to rethink how to have fun and play. One simple solution that I enjoy is family adventure travel.
As an avid "outdoorsy" family, we've learned that vacation ownership with Hilton Grand Vacations makes our outdoor travel easy.
Here are three tips to help you plan, stress-free, family adventure travel.
Carry the Mindset of FUN
Times are tough for many, and some days you just want to go into hiding. The reality is, through the power of mindset, we have the ability to see the positive.
Even if an outdoor vacation isn't your typical idea of #travelgoals, embrace the new normal, and make the most of the great outdoors.
Choose to look at the potential enjoyment of the vacation from a positive mindset rather than a negative one, and you'll set yourself up for success. Staying open-minded may even expose you to new experiences that bring you joy that you wouldn't have otherwise discovered.
Look for Open Spaces
Because we know that spending time outdoors is the best way to protect ourselves from potential exposure to the coronavirus, look for vacation spots that offer a lot of open air. National parks, beaches and mountainous areas are great options for open-air fun.
One of my favorite benefits of our Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare is the access we have to a wide variety of travel destinations perfect for family adventure travel.
Two of our family’s favorite outdoor travel destinations for sun and surf are Ocean 22 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, or Lagoon Tower in Waikiki, Oahu, Hawaii.
If you prefer to keep your feet on dry ground, follow the mountains' call to well-known outdoor travel destinations like Sunrise Lodge in Park City, Utah or Valdoro Mountain Lodge in Breckenridge, Colorado. While we visit Utah and Colorado during the winter months, they are also ideal for a visit in warmer months.
