Orlando is known for its family-friendly theme parks, but the city isn't just for families with kids. Whether the little ones are at the resort with grandparents or you're enjoying a grown-up getaway with your partner, there's plenty of magic outside the theme parks as the sun goes down.

Plan a romantic evening watching the sunset with your loved one at one of these picturesque spots, about an hour drive or closer to many of Hilton Grand Vacations’ Orlando resorts.

Sunset Dining

Orlando's stunning sunsets are an ideal backdrop for a romantic dinner, whether you want to dress up and dine on white tablecloths or enjoy the sun's reflection at a lakeside picnic.

Lake Eola Park lies in downtown Orlando, just a short distance from some of the most beloved theme parks. Before you stroll hand-in-hand around its shoreline, grab a gyro or other picnic-friendly food at Relax Grill, and find a secluded spot to enjoy a lakeside spread. Romantic settings include a Japanese-style pagoda, a towering fountain, expansive floral gardens and other options guaranteed to set the stage for a memorable date night. Rent a pedal-powered swan boat to enjoy the sunset from the water, time your visit to enjoy a concert at the park's bandstand or up the excitement by visiting during a festival.

On the other end of the casual-to-swanky spectrum, Enzo's on the Lake is one of Condé Nast Traveler’s best restaurants in Orlando and a can't-miss destination. With lake-view dining and cozy fireside tables, this Italian fine dining experience rolls out authentic Neapolitan cuisine and ambiance that will make it a night to remember.

Hillstone also provides carefully curated ambiance on the shores of Lake Killarney in Winter Park, a suburb of the Orlando metropolitan area. Make a reservation to watch the sun sink while enjoying house specialties of steak and seafood. Note the restaurant's dress code and dining policies, which augment its peaceful waterside atmosphere.

Paddlefish, just a short drive from many of Orlando's most notable theme parks, is located on the waterfront in Disney Springs. The restaurant, which embraces a re-imagined steamboat theme and features rooftop dining, is perfect for sunset-seekers. Fresh seafood is the restaurant's specialty, so try some local favorites. Save room for chocolate mousse cake or key lime pie for dessert.

Sunset Activities

Orlando serves up lots of action after the sun sinks, so gear up for an activity-driven date to make lasting memories with one of these romantic things to do.

  • Take in the view from the Orlando Eye at ICON Park. The 400-foot observation wheel gives unparalleled views of the city skyline, theme parks, lakes and lush landscape. Glimpse Cape Canaveral in the distance on clear days. Don't be afraid to reach out and hold your honey's hand — the air-conditioned viewing capsule will help keep those sweaty palms under control.
  • Rent a kayak on the Winter Park Chain of Lakes. Book a sunset kayak tour with Get Up and Go Kayaking, a local tour group. The clear kayaks give you an unobstructed view of creatures such as fish, turtles and diving birds. Paddle with your sweetie in a kayak built for two, and explore Venetian-style canals that connect the three lakes en route to a stunning lake sunset. Or check out some of Orlando’s other outdoor adventures.
  • Stop and smell the flowers as you enjoy an outdoor movie night at Leu Gardens on the first Friday of each month. Bring a picnic basket and a blanket to snuggle with your sweetheart as you enjoy a blockbuster.

  • Watch the action from the air when you book an evening helicopter flight. Get a bird's-eye view as Orlando's lakes glow with reflections of the setting sun and the theme parks come to life with twinkling lights.
  • Get away from it all by hopping aboard an airboat and exploring the headwaters of the Everglades along the Kissimmee Waterway with Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures. Head out on your tour to watch the day's end together. Or try horseback riding with your sweetheart for a calmer finish to the day.

Orlando is a town of epic scenery, from its famed theme park attractions to its lesser-known romantic gems.
