Nasa Hataoka is many things: an LPGA golfer with 11 wins in Japan and the United States, an Olympic athlete and a Hilton Grand Vacations Brand Ambassador. Her career has taken her worldwide, from her home in Japan to the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in Orlando. Get inspired for your next golf getaway at one of these destinations based on Nasa’s career.
1. Tokyo, Japan
Nasa was born in Ibaraki, Japan — about an hour by train from Tokyo. She started playing golf at 11 and competed throughout her teens, winning the IMG Academy Junior World Championship, the Kanto Junior Championship, the Faldo Series Asia and the Ciputra World Junior Championship.
While still an amateur, Nasa won the 2016 Japan Women's Open Golf Championship on the LPGA of Japan Tour — establishing herself as the first amateur to win a JLPGA Major. Nasa soon after went professional and earned her LPGA tour card in 2017.
She also represented her home country of Japan at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Where to play: Golf a round in Nasa’s home prefecture Ibaraki at The Windsor Park Golf & Country Club. Closer to Tokyo is Nishifuji Golf Club, offering spectacular views of Mt. Fuji. Or visit Tsutsujigaoka Country Club in the spring to see thousands of azaleas in full bloom.
Where to stay: Hilton Grand Vacations Members can convert ClubPoints to Hilton Honors™ Points and stay with Hilton's portfolio in Tokyo.
2. Carlsbad, California
Since turning professional, Nasa has earned six LPGA Tour wins and two International Crown Victories. Two of her victories — the 2019 Kia Classic and the 2022 DIO Implant LA Open — took place in Southern California.
Where to play: Follow in Nasa’s footsteps and golf at Aviara Golf Club, home of the Kia Classic and designed by Arnold Palmer. The Crossings at Carlsbad is also a world-class course where you can soak in the gorgeous California sun.
Where to stay: Once you’ve sunk putts like a pro, relax at MarBrisa, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club and enjoy the sunset by the sea, or venture to one of Southern California’s famous attractions.
3. Orlando, Florida
Nasa competed at the 2022 and 2023 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club. This annual event differs from other golf tournaments, as LPGA athletes play alongside celebrities to kick off the LPGA season. "It's an honorable tournament where only the winners can participate. My goal is to participate every year. It motivates me to work hard," explained Nasa.
Even if you’re not (yet) a golf fan, the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions features all-star entertainment in the evenings, world-class food and beverage and the chance to rub elbows with the stars — just one of the many once-in-a-lifetime events Members can attend through HGV Ultimate Access*.
"I can't wait to return to one of my favorite tournaments on the tour, the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions."
Where to play: Orlando is a golfer’s paradise. Take your pick of courses and clubs featuring Florida’s unique wetland environment, including the recently renovated Mystic Dunes Golf Club, Celebration Golf Club, Grand Cypress Golf Club, Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Golf Club and Hawks Landing Golf Club.

4. Honolulu, Hawaii
As a Hilton Grand Vacations Brand Ambassador, Nasa offers exclusive events throughout the year. She’s hosted private golf clinics and meet-and-greets, sharing her passion and expertise with Members and Guests in Honolulu.
"I've always found that one of the best parts of golf is its welcoming nature. It brings people together, no matter their age," said Nasa. "Becoming a Hilton Grand Vacations Brand Ambassador expands my ability to make those connections and friendships with players and fans.”
Where to play: Honolulu is known for its lush greenery, sunny skies and crystal-clear water. It’s no different for Oahu’s golf courses, which bring together great golf with the island’s relaxing environment. Swing by Ko Olina Golf Club and Turtle Bay Golf for an unforgettable round (or two).
Where to stay: Oahu is home to several Hilton Grand Vacations properties to explore, from Grand Waikikian, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club to Lagoon Tower, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club.
